This same natural beauty fired Dan Sewell's imagination 150 years later and the "teeming fish" were to make his family's name synonymous with Horseshoe Bay. He brought his family here in 1931 when it was just a collection of summer cottages and "dark as a pit at night, with just a few scattered lights".
Many visitors and countless memories later, Sewell's Marina continues to provide world-class services to its guests and community. Horseshoe Bay is still a gathering point for vacationers, travellers and locals alike. Here is a brief and informal history of our remarkable little corner of the world. |
